The vehicles will be on display until January 18, 2025
“The Maserati is a symbol of speed and elegance, thanks to the numerous sporting victories and road-going grand tourers that have characterized its production. This is why we want to celebrate her in the emotional space of ACI – ACI Storico, for 110 years of history, as an ambassador of Italian creative genius in the world”. This was declared by the President of the Automobile Club of Italy and ACI Storico, Eng. Angelo Sticchi Damiani, cutting the ribbon of the exhibition “Maserati: 110 years of history – The Legend of Racing and Gran Turismo” at the ACI exhibition space – ACI Storico in the Caracciolo Gallery in via Marsala in Rome.
The exhibition, made in collaboration with the MAUTO – National Automobile Museum and the Nicolis Museum, traces the history of the House of the Trident through five iconic models.
The first car on display, in order of age, is the 1954 Maserati 250F, red in colour, with which the famous driver Juan Manuel Fangio won the Formula 1 world championship in 57′. With the same example, belonging to the MAUTO, the Argentine driver won the first two Grands Prix of the 1954 season, fundamental for the final victory of the championship.
Representing the 1960 class is a Maserati 3500 GT in the rare Spider Vignale version. The petrol green colour, combined with a light leather interior, makes the line of this car from the Nicolis Museum even more iconic.
As an engineering evolution of the previous one, a 1962 Maserati 3500 GTI, white in colour, is also on display. Coupé version owned by the Nicolis Museum, it represents the first injection model from the House of the Trident.
The 70s are well represented with two further examples, both from the Nicolis Museum: a 1970 Indy America, in light blue, and a Ghibli, in white. The lines, designed respectively by Vignale and Giorgetto Giugiaro, with a large engine compartment, suggest the 4,700 displacement power that determined the commercial successes of both models.
The vehicles will remain in the ACI – ACI Storico exhibition space until January 18, 2025.
