Toyota Tsusho Corporation (“Toyota Tsusho”) announced today that it has received the highest rating of “A List Company” for the three categories of “Climate Change”, “Forests”, and “Water Security” of the CDP*1, an international non-profit organization. This is the second consecutive year that the “A List Company” has been selected for “Climate Change” and “Forests.”
The Toyota Tsusho Group is working to establish Toyota Tsusho’s unique business domains as well as achieve carbon neutrality and a circular economy across the entire company under the slogan “Passing on a better global environment to the children of the future.” Toyota Tsusho has formulated the “Carbon Neutrality Roadmap 2030”*2 and is working to achieve a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by 2030 compared to 2019 as well as carbon neutrality by 2050.
The Toyota Tsusho Group Environmental Policy*3 was revised in 2024 to clarify policies on a wide range of themes, including air pollution, water pollution, and soil contamination. It also promotes measures in areas such as addressing climate change, preserving forests and biodiversity, conserving resources and energy, using water effectively, and reducing water consumption in water-stressed regions. In its business activities, Toyota Tsusho is promoting renewable energy projects, including some of the largest wind and solar power generation projects in Japan. It is also promoting the electrification and alternative fueling of mobility through means such as hydrogen, biofuels, and batteries, and circulation-based resource development that does not damage natural capital.
The Toyota Tsusho Group’s businesses and analysis of risks and opportunities related to climate change, natural capital, and biodiversity are disclosed in the “Integrated Report 2024”*4 as “Disclosure Based on TCFD Recommendations” and “TNFD-based Initial Disclosure.”
Toyota Tsusho believes that being selected as an “A List” company in the three categories of “Climate Change”, “Forests”, and “Water Security” reflects a comprehensive evaluation of the Toyota Tsusho Group’s sustainability initiatives and information disclosure.
Going forward, Toyota Tsusho will continue to promote environmentally friendly business activities as a good corporate citizen, strive to solve environmental issues, and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society in order to pass on a better global environment to the children of the future.
