Located at 11860 Whittier Blvd., the Whittier branch has two dedicated buildings adjoined by a courtyard: a 1,700-square-foot branch and a 600-square-foot annex building, which will be used for community events such as homebuying and financial education seminars.

To celebrate, City National hosted a special grand opening event on Saturday, March 1. The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, remarks from local officials, including Whittier Mayor Joe Vinatieri, city council members Octavio Cesar Martinez and Mary Ann Pacheco, as well as State Senator Bob Archuleta, and a community celebration. Additionally, the bank presented a total of $30,000 in checks to support three local nonprofit organizations, The Whole Child, Whittier Area First Day Coalition (First Day) and Soroptimist International of Whittier.

“We are very happy to be a part of the Whittier community and look forward to serving the local businesses, entrepreneurs, individuals and families who call Whittier home,” said David Cameron, executive vice president and head of Consumer Banking at City National Bank. “Over the last year, we have truly enjoyed getting to know Whittier and its rich history. We look forward to becoming a trusted member of this vibrant and connected community.”

The branch is in one of the three adapted historic buildings that make up Heritage Court within the Groves – a new community set on a unique historic site that spans 15 acres and is adjacent to more than 500 new homes and nearly 200 apartments, as well as retail shops and eateries.

This is City National’s first location in Whittier and its first branch opening in the LA area since 2021.
