@Toyota: Toyota Tsusho Makes Carpaydiem, Which Operates a Used Car Online Export and Sales Business, a Wholly Owned Subsidiary

Toyota Tsusho Corporation (“Toyota Tsusho”) made Carpaydiem Co., Ltd. (“Carpaydiem”) a wholly owned subsidiary as of today.

Carpaydiem operates the cross-border e-commerce site Carused.jp and engages in the export and sale of Japanese used cars to other 100 countries around the world, including Africa.

Toyota Tsusho entered into a capital and business alliance with Carpaydiem in 2020 and made it a subsidiary in 2023, expanding its business by combining Toyota Tsusho’s overseas local network, including after-sales service, with Carpaydiem’s digital marketing and system development capabilities.

The purpose of making Carpaydiem a wholly owned subsidiary is to further strengthen ties between Toyota Tsusho’s businesses and Carpaydiem and to accelerate Carpaydiem’s business expansion.

Through the business operation of Carpaydiem, Toyota Tsusho will contribute to the creation of a safe and comfortable mobility society by providing customers around the world with a safe and secure “automotive life” in the used car market centered on Africa, where demand is expected to continue to increase.
