@Toyota: [Toyota Times] “The Things That Toyota Values Today” – President Sato’s Entrance Ceremony Speech

President Sato

Good morning! I’m President Koji Sato. Welcome to the carmaker Toyota!

Today, we are joined here by 2,010 new employees, with 909 mid-career hires participating remotely from their workplaces. I am truly delighted to have these 2,919 members join our team.

Thank you all very much for choosing Toyota.

For all of you, this entrance ceremony serves as a starting point. Today is a very important day, as you embark on your future careers.

That is why I wanted cars to be part of this memorable occasion―so today, you were welcomed by the cars that our various companies and plants work so hard to make.

Among the vehicles that greeted you were cars that Chairman Akio Toyoda personally honed as master driver.

A GRMN Yaris that rolled during a test run at the Shimoyama dirt course with master driver Morizo behind the wheel. An investigation of the causes by the team of mechanics and engineers led to improvements in the final product.

After the ceremony, take some time to explore and get to know these cars, as a way to mark the start of your days at Toyota. I hope you will take those memories with you into the future.
