@Groupe PSA: op manta with almond horns000772

A cup of coffee, fresh bread from the region – perhaps a “wild” or a “weckmann”. That is reason enough to visit the “bread workshop” in Niederzier. Now the Karduck bakery in North Rhine-Westphalia attracts with a specially for car nostalgic: Opel fans enjoy pastries with a view of the Opel Blitz, yellow-black furniture and a wall collage full of manta motifs.

The Karduck family runs 15 branches in the region – but none is like that in Niederzier. Why? “In 2020 we bought the property,” says senior boss Rolf Karduck. “The Opel dealer Laaf & Heyden used to be here-a family business that I very much appreciated.” The idea was obvious: the spirit of the workshop should remain-with bread fragrance and lightning design.

ABC shop construction designed the premises after Pamela Burgarth’s designs.

In Niederzier is the latest of the 15 branches, the Karduck family operates in the region.

The new owners live the Opel Spirit with great attention to detail.

Corona slowed down the conversion – but not the ideas. The Hamburg graphic artist Pamela Burgarth brought Karduck on board for the wall design. She visited the Automuseum there, contacted Opel Archive and Communication in Rüsselsheim-and fell in love with the manta. The designs have implemented the specialists from ABC shopping. The result: a street art collage of the auto icon, supplemented by a bonnet provided with graffiti, illuminated by a tire lampshade. Old advertising posters and sketches complete the picture.

Managing Director Katharina Ganser found the right furniture online: yellow-black tables, seating furniture made of oil barrels, a sofa from a vehicle front. Creative teamwork – with a coherent result. The guests at the opening were thrilled.
