Sales of electrified vehicles exceed 17,000 units in April

The electrified vehicle market accumulates in the first four months, 60,423 sales, 55% more than the previous year

Madrid, May 5, 2025.- Sales of electrified vehicles (electric and plug-in hybrids, comprising cars, quadricycles, commercial and industrial vehicles and buses) achieve a notable increase of 77.4% in April, with 17,284 sales, which represent 14.75% of the market. Until the fourth month, a total of 60,423 sales, 54.9% more than in 2024 and with 13.5% of the market have been added.

As for the registration of alternative vehicles (electrified, hybrid and gas), they increase 41.4% in the month, with 62,512 units sold and represent 41.45% of the market. In the total of the year, they accumulate 241,963 sales, 41.5% more than the previous year.

Electric vehicles – zero label

Sales of pure electric vehicles increased 66.9% in April, with 7,614 units registered. It represents 6.55% of the market share in the month. In the whole of the year, the sales of these vehicles total 29,704 units, 64.9% more than in the same period of the previous year. The accumulated of the year quota is 6.63%

Plugable hybrid vehicles – zero label

Sales of plug -in hybrid vehicles grew by 86.8% during April and reach 9,610 units enrolled. It represents 8.2% of the month market share. In the whole of the year, the sales of these vehicles total 30,719 units, 46.4% more than in the same period of the previous year. The quota of the accumulated of the year is 6.86%.

Hybrid vehicles – Eco Tag

Sales of non -plug -in hybrid vehicles increase by 32.3% in April, and reach 40,843 units enrolled in this month. It represents 32.32% of the market share in April. In the accumulated of the year, the sales of these vehicles accumulate 162,785 units, 35% more than in the same period of the previous year. The quota of the total of the year is 36.35%.

GAS – ECO LABEL VEHICLES

Sales of gas vehicles grew by 22.3% in April with 4,385 registered units representing 3.74% of the market share in the month. In the whole of the year, the sales of these vehicles accumulate 18,755 units, 64.5% more than in the same period of the previous year. The quota of the accumulated of the year is 4.19%.

Touring market

Electrified, hybrid and gas registrations increase their sales by 42.4% compared to the same month of the previous year, to 60,974 units delivered. In this fourth month, they remain as a preferred purchase option, with 62% of the total market share. Regarding, to the accumulated of the year, 42.1% grow with 236,295 units sold and 62.5% of the total market.  

As for the market for electrified cars, in April the rhythm is maintained, with a new growth of its sales, increasing 79.3%, with 15,957 units sold, to reach 16.2% of the total market of the month, 6.5 percentage points more than the same month of 2024. Pure electric (BEV) grow 78% to 6,835 units in the month, as well as the plug (PHEV) that increase their sales by 80.3% and 9,122 new units. In the total of the year, sales of electrified cars total 55,701 units, 54.8% more than the previous year and 14.74% of the general market.
