CHICAGO, June 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Speaker of the Illinois House Emanuel “Chris” Welch is bringing back his annual “Equality & Pride 365” Pride Month event featuring legendary entertainers from The Baton Show Lounge. The event will celebrate the Speaker and House Democrats’ continuous fight for freedom, expression, equality, and inclusion.
“This Pride Month is perhaps the most important since the historic start of my speakership,” said Welch. “With our LGBTQ+ friends and neighbors becoming increasingly concerned with the actions being taken in Washington, it’s vital for us to continue to loudly and proudly celebrate Pride. I am as thrilled as ever for my annual Equality & Pride 365 event. I encourage those celebrating their Pride and allies alike to attend.”
The event will be held on the Godfrey Hotel Rooftop on Tuesday, June 24 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.. In addition to incredible city views, the event will welcome a legendary DJ, Legendary Host Victoria Le Paige, and the best of the best in the art of female impersonation. The event also plans to honor Jim Flint, founder of the Baton and the man who helped shape the direction of gay rights across the country. With the IO Godfrey Rooftop Lounge providing incredible views of the city, this fundraiser has become one of the best political events of the summer.
