@Groupe psa: op The asphalt is not enough 000778

Cut light cones through the half -darkness, the bass buzzes. The crowd pushes to the stage, smartphones on the stop. Then the cloth falls-and it stands in the confetti gold rain: the Opel Frontera Gravel. Rope winch, roof rack, sand boards. Orange accents on the sand -colored body – warning color for everyone who still thinks a quiet person comes here.

Designed by Opel in Rüsselsheim for fans and built in cooperation with the Motorsport Tuning partners Blackfish and XS, the show car with Blitz celebrates its premiere at the “XS Carnight Wörthersee”. 20,000 tuning fans celebrate what wheels have and is different for four days. On Friday evening, the Frontera Gravel stands like a promise: rougher, brave, ready for adventure.

“The Showcar Frontera Gravel continues – harder, angular, uncompromising.”
-Rebecca Reinermann, Opel Marketing Head-

It is an SUV with adventure as an attitude – and everyday life as a starting point. The Frontera Gravel is based on the fully electric series version of the Frontera. Means: 113 hp, 145 Newton meters of torque, front -wheel drive. “Even the new Frontera is noticeable: robust, practical, suitable for family,” says Opel Marketing Director Rebecca Reinermann. “But the showcar Gravel continues – harder, angular, uncompromising.” The show car is concept, cross -border commuters, conversation.

An SUV whirls up dust – electrically
And at Opel you can hear exactly: “Our Frontera Gravel arrives at the community,” says Peter Junghanns, manager for Brand Strategy. A lot. The desire for a series version – Junghanns hears it dozen times at the open meeting. The response shows that sustainability and individualized driving pleasure – this is not a contradiction. But the new normal.

“Our show car arrives at the community. Very even.”
– Peter Junghanns, Opel Manager for Brand Strategy –

The cooperation between Opel and the “XS” makers? Proven. For example, the Astra plug-in hybrid has already received an “XS” tuning-in a reminiscence to the Rüsselsheim Motorsport history. And the clenched know-how of the scene has also been incorporated into the redesign of the Frontera Gravel: the design was created in collaboration with Black Fish. Conversion including foiling? Came from carstyle.me. The “leather clinic” has upgraded the interior with black headlining and orange-colored accents on the seats.

In addition to the roof rack – the lateral traffic jam truck increases the transport capacity.

The rough look underline a winch and a hook on the front.

The show car will be shown live at other events in the coming weeks.

The result: a vision for adventurers. Two ropes tension from the roof rack to the bonnet, ready to clear each branch. Mounted on the black-foiled hood and on the roof rack: Horizontal LED strips that make the night path a day. At the C column: sand boards, ready to use when the path ends in the dirt. The 16-inch Borbet rims are deeply embedded in coarse-stubborn all-terrain tires, the profile of which is only a promise-on mud, gravel and rubble.

New concept, old cult
The show car is a statement: no local emissions, no noise – but ready for rubble and spray. Why the premiere in Klagenfurt? Because the “XS Carnight” on Lake Wörthersee comes back here – with a new concept and old cult. The XS organizer Andreas Füllborn relies on passion, innovation and community sense when it comes to a new edition. Warm-up party, after-show party, welcome event-the tuning community celebrates in and with the city. The region is there: hotels, gastronomy, trade-everyone benefits from the rush of auto fans. And it’s big. The 500 tickets for the final on Saturday on Simonhöhe – sold out in 13 minutes. Also here at 1,300 meters: the Frontera Gravel – beyond the paths. Ready for adventure.

As with the gearbox, every little, but also large gear it takes to reach the finish line: thanks go to everyone who regularly went the “extra mile” during the project phase to achieve the Opel Frontera Gravel.
