@VW Group: Preview of the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring: Volkswagen is celebrating a Golf GTI Festival this year010313

A special GTI weekend is coming up soon: at the ADAC 24-hour race at the Nürburgring on Friday 20 June, Volkswagen will present the world premiere of the most powerful production Golf GTI ever built to date. Performance, appearance, equipment? Still secret. But it can already be revealed that the vehicle is a top-class anniversary model to mark the 50th birthday of the GTI next year, which Volkswagen is celebrating with this special car. This is just the start of what will be a weekend of racing tailor-made for Volkswagen fans: only one day later, two enhanced Golf GTI Clubsport 24h cars will take on the great challenge and compete in the 24-hour race on the circuit nicknamed ‘Green Hell’ in front of an expected 200,000 spectators.

Performance models and Volkswagen parade: On a presentation area on the Nürburgring’s Ring Boulevard, Volkswagen will not only present the new anniversary GTI at the race weekend, but also the all-electric ID. GTI Concept and the top-of-the-range Golf R in a new colour finish as further highlights. Visitors to the Volkswagen World at the Ring can also gather their own experience on the Nordschleife with one of the driving simulators. But shortly before the big race, it’s time to get out to the track. Just before the start of the 24-hour race, 40 drivers in Volkswagen GTIs from all eight generations will greet the many fans around the Nordschleife in a vehicle parade.
