Flensburg, 3 May 2018. Flensburg, 3 May 2018. In April 2018, 314,055 were brand new Passenger cars ( car ) and thus plus +8.0 percent more than in the same month last year.

The proportion of private registrations increased by + 19.3 percent, reaching a share of 38.5 percent, the commercial one registrations increased by +2.0 percent.

The Germans Brands With the exception of Audi (-1.5%), registrations increased in Smart (+ 22.9%), Ford (+ 14.8%) and VW (+14.6%) were double digits. The brand VW achieved repeatedly with 20.6 percent the largest brand share of the registrations ,

Among the import brands, Seat (+37.5%) and Honda (+31.8%) posted registrations of more than +30 percent. Declines of more than -40 percent were reported by Tesla (-46.2%) and Land Rover (-44.9%). With a new registration share of 5.4 percent (+ 12.5%), Skoda again was the most heavily-owned import brand.

Both segments Minis (-0.3%), compact class (-2.6%) and Vans (-3.1%) declined in April. Most new cars were to be assigned despite the decline of the compact class (21.8%). The second strongest segment were the SUVs which came to a share of 16.4 percent after an increase of +30.2 percent in April. The upper class posted the strongest growth of +31.7 percent, reaching 1.0 percent.

Fossil fuels were once again the most common type of propulsion. 61.6 percent of the new cars were petrol engines (+19.1%), 33.4 percent were equipped with a diesel engine
(-12.5%). A combined share of 0.5 percent was accounted for by liquid and natural gas vehicles (1,554 / + 195.4%).

In the alternative drive types, 3,171 electric car to a share of 1.0 percent (+124.4%). There were 10,858 hybrid-powered car newly registered (3.5% / + 69.8%), including 2,632 plug-in hybrids (0.8% / + 21.1%). The average CO 2 Output rose +1.6 percent to 130.4 in April g / km ,
