Held inside Hangar 0 at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, the exclusive event was open to all active-duty military in the San Diego area and featured live music from DJ Stakz, a high-flying BMX stunt show, a massive fleet of Monster Energy and military vehicles, and appearances from Monster athletes and the iconic Monster Girls. The night’s centerpiece was a live broadcast of UFC 317, shown on two massive 30’x40′ screens, covering every match from the early prelims to the main event in Las Vegas – concluding with Ilia Topuria’s stunning knockout of Charles Oliveira.

To kick off the celebration, the first 500 troops through the gates received a special Monster Energy gift, and free Monster beverages flowed all night long. Adding to the excitement, ESPN broadcasted live from the event, offering fans across the world a glimpse into the celebration and a heartfelt “thank you” from the troops.

“This was our way of saying thanks in the loudest, most Monster way possible,” said Dan McHugh, Global CMO. “Our military is always ready, and we’ll never stop showing our gratitude for everything they do.”

Monster Energy has a longstanding history of supporting military service members, veterans, and their families. The company donates nearly one million cans of Monster annually to troops deployed across all six branches of the military and partners with a wide range of charitable and veteran-focused organizations, including the USO, Warrior Built Foundation, Heroes Hunting Foundation, High Fives Foundation, and many others. The brand also proudly employs numerous military veterans within its own ranks.

While this particular activation was Monster’s largest to date, it builds on a strong tradition of support, including annual participation in the Miramar Air Show and international USO tours with Monster athletes like Kurt Busch, Rob Gronkowski, and Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.

The June 28 event coincidentally leads into the upcoming 250th Anniversary of the U.S. Marine Corps this November. “It wasn’t planned around the anniversary, but what a fitting way to celebrate early,” added McHugh. “Happy birthday to the Marines – 250 years young and still the baddest on the planet.”

From energizing troops on the front lines to showing up with unforgettable experiences, Monster Energy remains committed to supporting the military community—anytime, anywhere.
