PORTLAND, Ore., July 1, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — In an effort to support good health of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) beneficiaries, we are pleased to announce the launch of Aisle10, a monthly subscription service designed to empower individuals to prioritize their health and wellness without financial constraints.
“Many products found up and down your grocery aisle are not only expensive but are made with highly toxic fluorinated chemicals called PFAS or ‘forever chemicals.’ Aisle10 is our commitment to bring ingredient-conscious products and information to everyone regardless of economic background,” Elizabeth Candello, founder of Aisle10.org, said. “Consider this the food bank for self-care, with an emphasis on giving individuals the freedom to choose quality personal care products with ingredients in mind.”
All personal care items and hygiene products, including toothpaste, deodorant, sunscreen and soap currently available at Aisle10, have been sourced with non-toxic ingredients. We prioritize the highest quality products that promote good health.
“We have worked hard to ensure Oregonians and their families are safe from toxins in personal care products. The passage of the “Toxic-Free Cosmetics” bill that passed in 2023 — prohibiting all forever chemicals in personal care products from being sold in the state of Oregon — is a step in the right direction. The service provided by Aisle10 supports our mission that no one should have to use products that contain harmful chemicals,” Oregon State Senator Janeen Sollman said.
Forever chemicals have been linked to cancer, reproductive harm and decreased immune response. According to a peer-reviewed study, by a team of 16 researchers, nearly half of everyday personal care products tested contain potentially harmful chemicals, and approximately 88 percent of products tested lacked information about these ingredients on their product labels.
How Aisle10 works: Subscribing to Aisle10 is easy. SNAP-eligible individuals, referred to us via a certified Oregon community center, are welcome to join the monthly service. Once verified, they will receive access to the Aisle10 marketplace and are able to curate a package each month designed to elevate their self-care routine. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, there are 737,892 Oregonians who receive SNAP benefits.
Oregonians who receive SNAP benefits are eligible for Aisle10. The requirements, including resources and income limits are available at the Oregon Department of Human Services.
Become A10: Join us to become an A10 donor. Whether you’re seeking information on the ingredients found in self-care products or would like to contribute, your pledge of just $10 per month shows your commitment to quality self-care for all regardless of economic background.
