What happened?
On or around November 6, 2024, Ahold Delhaize USA identified a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to some of its internal U.S. business systems. The company launched an investigation and discovered that between November 5 and November 6, 2024, an unauthorized third party accessed certain files stored in one of their internal U.S. file repositories. Some of these files contained personal information of customers that Ahold Delhaize USA had obtained while providing services to current and former Ahold Delhaize USA companies.
The potentially compromised personal information included names, contact details (such as mailing addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers), dates of birth, government-issued identification numbers (like Social Security, passport, and driver’s license numbers), financial account information, health data, and employment-related information. Up to 2,242,521 individuals have been affected by this data breach.
