Esteemed speakers set for the Compliance & Ethics Institute in Nashville

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 4, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics® (SCCE®) announces an exceptional lineup of general session speakers for its premier conference of the year, the 24th Annual Compliance & Ethics Institute. Jason Cromartie, Deputy Assistant Director of the FBI’s Inspection Division (INSD) will kick off the conference on Monday, September 15 with an FBI Update. INSD performs mission-critical roles which include ensuring enterprise-wide compliance and strategic improvement of performance by conducting internal investigations, use-of-enforcement investigations, internal audits, and conducting legal risk mitigation. Mr. Cromartie will discuss:

  • Business risk from cyber threats: Threat landscape and business impacts
  • Strategies and risk mitigation: Visibility, performance
  • FBI assistance to the private sector: Examples

In General Session 2, Takeaways from Guidance of Key Global Enforcement Authorities, attendees will receive first-hand insights from a panel of government officials. The session is scheduled for Tuesday morning, September 16. Topics will include:

  • Government guidance for compliance best practices
  • international expectations of compliance policies and procedures for corruption, trade controls, fraud, and other economic crimes
  • How to best adapt global compliance guidance themes to individual programs

Charles Esten, global entertainer, will close out the day on Tuesday with a lively General Session entitled The Art of Collaboration. Best known for his roles as Deacon Claybourne in ABC/CMT’s “Nashville” and Ward Cameron on the Netflix hit show “Outer Banks,” Mr. Esten is also an accomplished musician-songwriter who has made more than 180 appearances at Nashville’s iconic Grand Ole Opry. Mr. Esten will share some of his experiences and music along with insights on:

  • Ways to collaborate more effectively with others
  • The value of understanding the vision of colleagues while staying true to your principles
  • What points are negotiable, and which are worth fighting over
