The American Red Cross provides 40% of the nation’s blood supply, making this expansion vital to save more lives.
At the opening of the expanded blood donation center, the American Red Cross recognized all the sponsors for this project on a Donor Recognition Wall, and American Packaging Corporation is proud to be listed among many philanthropic companies and individuals who share the American Red Cross’s dream.
American Packaging’s representatives — Sophia Morici and Amy Cornell — attended the ribbon cutting ceremony and tour the renovated center. Sophia Morici, Employee Engagement Business Partner, described, “The new American Red Cross Blood Donation Center in Fairport is a beautiful, relaxing, and welcoming facility. I hope they continue to receive many blood donations to support those in the community and those in need.”
The expanded donation center will provide:
More convenient and consistent locations for donors – existing and new – to give blood.
More opportunities for donors to give red blood cells, platelets and plasma, which can only be collected at Blood Donation Centers, not mobile sites.
And most importantly, an increased capacity to collect lifesaving blood products more efficiently and build a more resilient blood supply for people in need during medical emergencies.
