@niche: Koenigsegg Reclaims 0–400–0 km/h World Record with Jesko Absolut004000

Örebro, Sweden – August 7, 2025

Koenigsegg has once again claimed the coveted 0–400–0 km/h world record for homologated road cars at Örebro airfield on August 7, 2025.

Factory test driver Markus Lundh piloted the Jesko Absolut to an astonishing new time of 25.21 seconds, surpassing both the company’s own previous benchmark from June 2024 and everyone else.

This latest achievement was made possible by new and improved software strategies applied to the same Jesko Absolut used in last year’s record run. Dubbed “Absolut Overdrive”, these refinements will be rolled out to customer cars, ensuring every Jesko Absolut owner benefits from the advancements made during Koenigsegg’s continued pursuit for technical excellence and software development.

“This run demonstrated the power of cross functional teamwork and exceptional communication between our in-house developed drivetrain systems,” said Christian von Koenigsegg, Founder and CEO. “It’s a testament to the synergies between our engineering & development teams, our cutting-edge software architecture, and avant garde class leading mechanical solutions.”

Conditions and vehicle

Lundh was faced with challenges, as he had to contend with a drying tarmac following earlier rainfall, demanding the most from the Absolut and the test driver.

Despite these sub-optimal conditions, the Jesko Absolut’s twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8, low drag coefficient and sophisticated traction control strategies combined to deliver a performance that solidifies its status as the fastest fully homologated production car in the world over this demanding test.

The improvements made helped Markus complete the 0-400-0 km/h run in just 25.21 seconds and the 0-250-0 mph run in 25.67 seconds. These numbers are astonishing as it meant shaving over 2,5 seconds from the previous 0-400-0 km/h record time of 27.83 set by the same Jesko Absolut in 2024.

0-400-0 km/h – 25.21 seconds

0-400 km/h – 16.77 seconds

400-0 km/h – 8.44 seconds

0-250-0 mph – 25.67 seconds

0-250 mph – 17.18 seconds

250-0 mph – 8.49 seconds

Christian comments on the improvements made since last year’s record run:

“Our software engineers have been tweaking and adjusting the Light Speed Transmission & Engine Management system and have introduced a new torque control system which manages the grip of the Absolut like never before.

That we achieve this level of performance with a production car utilizing a combustion engine with rear wheel drive only – beating all 4-wheel drive electric cars in a straight line is almost magical and show that “truths” can be re-written.”

The run was verified using industry-standard Racelogic equipment and the recorded data was verified by Racelogic themselves.
