C & C was founded by Hottle’s grandfather and great uncle, Joe and Roger Corrion, who worked as two of the company’s three employees. The company focused on sheet metal work and furnace repair. By the 1970s, the company had added air conditioning services and continued its growth trajectory. Today the company has 65 employees and 30 fleet vehicles on the road and still operates as a family-owned business.

Hottle worked in the business off and on most of her life but began working full time as C & C’s operations manager in 2005 after graduating with an economics degree from Albion College. She began serving as its general manager in 2022.

She said that for a home service company to thrive, owners and managers should prioritize the customer experience, implement a strong marketing and public relations presence, find ways to operate efficiently, and build a strong team.
