@Toyota: Jacob Denney Is One To Watch with Toyota Racing Development

At just 20 years old, Jacob Denney is one of the rising stars of the dirt-midget racing world—and the 2025 season is shaping up to be his biggest yet. In his first year as a Toyota Development driver, Denney is already turning heads as he competes in the Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series and the USAC National Midget Series, piloting the wheel of the No. 67 Toyota for Keith Kunz Motorsports.

Denney grew up in Galloway, Ohio, where his interest in racing began early. His father, a former legend car racer, introduced him to the sport.

“One night when my dad was racing, I asked if I could try, and it all started there,” Denney says.

His early passion launched a career that has already amassed him multiple wins on the national stage, including his first USAC midget victory at Lincoln Park Speedway in 2022—a milestone he still counts as his most memorable to date.

While Denney’s resume continues to grow, one track still holds a special place in his heart.

“My favorite track is Montpelier Motor Speedway,” says Denney. “That’s where I really started out and figured out how to race.”

A New Chapter
Joining Toyota Racing Development (TD2) in 2025 has brought new structure and focus to Denney’s racing mindset.

“It’s changed the way I approach everything,” he says. “Especially how I take care of my health and fitness.”

That added discipline supports his goals for this season, which are to stay consistent, compete at a high level every night, and turn in the kind of performance that wins championships. A key lesson Denney has learned—and one he plans to carry throughout this season—is the importance of patience and self-control.

“Take what you can get and don’t overdrive trying to force more,” he says. “Sometimes you have to relax.”

When he’s not behind the wheel, Denney is a self-proclaimed supercross and motorcross fanatic, sports that fuel his competitive spirit and love of speed. But when it comes to racing, he’s all business on the track. With raw talent, deep discipline and TD2 power behind him, Jacob Denney is one to watch.
