@Groupe PSA: Op Hot, Hotter, Mokka GSE000799

Lars Ripperger beams when he speaks of 345 Nm torque, of 200 km/h top speed. The grin becomes wider: “In 5.9 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h”. The Mokka GSE is the fastest electric opel, he emphasizes. For the product manager, the high-performance rally data is not only concentrated engineering from Rüsselsheim, but also family history.

Ripperger is the fourth generation Opelaner. His great -grandfather already worked as a master of the company, the grandfather has learned model maker and spent his entire professional life at Opel, mother, father and aunt also learned from Opel, his twin brother Lucas is one of his colleagues. That shapes.

Brings motorsport to the street: After five years in the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup, the best technology, performance and driving behavior go to the Mokka GSE.

For thrill in everyday life: Pilot and Copilot take a seat on specially developed Alcantara GSE sports seats with an integrated headrest.

He himself started in 2013 with a dual degree. Later with a focus on marketing. Today, as a product manager, he decides with which rim comes to the vehicle, which color convinces – and what performance the customers feel. The Mokka GSE wears its handwriting. “The Mokka GSE was a child of rally sport from day one,” says the 35-year-old. It is no coincidence that Opel put the Mokka GSE rally prototype of the series version at the photo shoot. “Rally to Road” was the mission.

The series mocha GSE takes over technology from the rally engine sport-torsen-limited slip differential, chassis with specifically designed axes and double hydro shock absorbers, sporty steering system and chassis. The yellow brake calipers signal that performance needs to be tamed. The result: powerful start from the stand, dynamic and stable in the curve, safe when braking. “The Mokka GSE is a high-performance overall package,” emphasizes Ripperger.

“Bämm! This Opel has more PSALS a Golf GTI.”

The specially developed steering and the steering wheel flattened at the top promise direct feedback.

Performance-volume: The yellow brake calipers can be seen behind the striking GSE rims.

Sharper, faster and more emotional: Announced the compact Stromer inspired by the rally prototype.

At the front and back: a white middle seam and yellow quilted yarn give the seats their typical look.

OMG! GSE: High performance in series-the new fully electric GSE models stand for that.

In general, the Opel Mokka has been a brand locomotive for years, a model that also convinces new customers. As a GSE, the SUV receives an additional role: emotion carrier. “Everyone who loves performance will find their car here. Karkt? Hardly,” says Ripperger. The interior? Specially developed sports seats with alcantara cover, a sports steering wheel, digital advertisements for G-forces and lap times on the driver’s theater. Outside? Black-off bonnet, aerodynamically optimized 20-inch alloy wheels, GSE-specific inserts on front apron and rear-plus new GSE logo. Opel sent the mocha into the fitness room – and he comes back throughout.

What the press says
Some media representatives have already been able to take a first look at the high-performance newcomer: “Automobile hot drink with sports badge,” judges Blick. “Bämm! This Opel has more PS than a Golf GTI”, writes the BILD.Autobild sees potential for “a real fun machine”. FOCUS Online texts with a wink: “Like a manta for ÖKOS.” “Highly emotional experiences at the wheel”. So far, the Mokka was the model with the greatest attraction for new customers. The GSE could reinforce this, says Auto.de.

A 10-inch display and the central touchscreen provide all information: GSE performance data, G-forces, acceleration values, battery management.

The typical GSE-style ads underline the high-quality, dynamic design-inside and outside down to detail.

There are only photos of the Opel Mokka GSE for the public. The first live appearance is imminent. At the IAA Mobility in Munich, the Opel celebrates its premiere with a sports badge. Lars Ripperger will of course be there when his heart project is presented to the audience. He could hardly wait until the motorsport energy comes onto the street: “The Mokka GSE brings the pulse to the lawn-pure driving fun,” he says.

“The Mokka GSE brings the pulse to the lawn – pure driving pleasure.”
– Lars Ripperger –

With a peak output of 207 kW (280 hp), the series current will be as strong in the future as its motorsport counterpart Mokka GSE Rally.

“Rally to Road”: For product managers Lars Ripperger, the Mokka GSE is a real heart project.
