Deborah T. Yarrow, PhD, is a seasoned educator and expert in English and academic programming, with nearly five decades of experience. Since 2024, she has served as the Gifted and Talented Coordinator at Lotus School for Excellence, a culturally rich charter school serving approximately 1,000 students—most of whom are non-native English speakers. In this role, she leads initiatives that inspire students to reach their full academic potential, including a school-wide math bee and participation in the Denver Metro Area Regional Science and Engineering Fair.
Dr. Yarrow holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Southern Mississippi, a master’s in English writing from Hollins University, and a PhD in forest resources from Clemson University. She is certified in both gifted education and English instruction.
Throughout her career, Dr. Yarrow has woven together her passions for education and environmental stewardship. She co-authored the book Managing Wildlife: On Private Lands in Alabama and the Southeast, a reflection of her dedication to communication and natural resource education. She is a member of both the Colorado Association for Gifted & Talented and the National Council of Teachers of English.
Outside the classroom, Dr. Yarrow is a devoted mother of three. She enjoys photography, writing, playing the piano, and caring for her dogs. She remains deeply committed to nurturing future generations through innovative academic programs and inclusive learning environments.
