@Groupe PSA: op vision with tradition000808

The Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo is the first opel concept vehicle to merge the digital with the real world. The high-performance study not only celebrates world premiere at the IAA Mobility 2025, but can be experienced and driven by any of the world’s leading racing simulators-Gran Turismo 7-from autumn.

Opel thus raises his tradition of visionary studies on a new level. For six decades, the Rüsselsheim -based company has been showing concept vehicles at the international automotive exhibition that show where the brand, technology and design are going.

1965: Experimental GT – the first of its kind
At the IAA in Frankfurt, Opel surprises with the first European concept vehicle. The Experimental GT breaks with conventions: flat front with folding headlights, heavily waisted body line, sharp demolition edge at the rear. The press is electrified, the audience as well. Just three years later, the study of the series GT-a pioneer for sporty design.

1969: Opel CD – luxury of the future

1983: Opel junior – light, economical, clever
The junior study does not focus on PS, but on efficiency. Only 650 kilograms of empty weight, an air resistance coefficient of 0.31 and a consumption of 4.0 liters per 100 kilometers. In addition, clever details: seat covers that can be used as sleeping bags or a stereo system to remove. The junior is an early anticipation of sustainable mobility in the small car segment.

1993: Opel Scamp-Corsa with SUV-DNA
With the scamp, Opel shows a concept that will later shape entire vehicle classes: increased ground clearance, folding deck, space for four people. In the rear: devices for bicycles or sports equipment. A Corsa as a leisure mobile-a B-SUV before the term was invented.

Bright green, compact, changeable. The Frogster can be Roadster, Cabrio or Pickup-this is what makes an electric aluminum rollo-roof possible. Also the Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), put into the dashboard centrally. It serves as a radio remote control and forerunner of modern smartphone integration.

2011: Opel RAK E – electromobility for everyone
The RAK E study takes up the topic of electromobility early. A tandem 2-seater with lightweight architecture, 100 kilometers range and 120 km/h tip. Designed for young drivers from the age of 16 and with an affordable price level. RAK E is a forerunner of today’s city electric vehicles such as the Opel Rocks.

2013: Opel Monza Concept – digital and modular
With the Monza Concept, Opel is opening a new chapter on the IAA. Wing doors, LED projections in cockpit, car-to-car and car-to-X communication: Visionaire technology for infotainment and networking.
