Wellman to lead a new initiative focused on CFO training
BOSTON, Sept. 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Cheryl Wellman, CPA—formerly vice president of operations at Premier Sotheby’s International Realty in Florida—has joined AccountTECH to spearhead a new initiative aimed at developing CFO-level accounting skills among AccountTECH’s staff and clients.
Wellman’s career began in Rochester, New York, where she earned her CPA license and went on to serve as president of the New York State Society of CPAs. That leadership role established her early reputation as an advocate for professional standards and financial excellence.
She later joined The Lutgert Companies and The Bonita Bay Group, where she gained broad experience in real estate development, hotel management, construction finance, and managerial accounting. These roles deepened her expertise in the financial operations of complex organizations.
In 2011, Wellman joined Premier Sotheby’s International Realty (now affiliated with Peerage Realty Partners) as corporate controller and was later promoted to vice president of operations. Over more than a decade, she oversaw the company’s finances during periods of major growth and took on responsibility for agent services, rental operations, legal case management, brand compliance, and regulatory oversight. In that role, she also collaborated closely with respected industry leaders, including Budge Huskey, now CEO of Premier Sotheby’s.
Mark Blagden, CEO of AccountTECH, said in announcing the hiring, “In my long career working with finance professionals, Cheryl stands out as that rare individual who has deep knowledge and experience in real estate accounting – and the ability to teach and develop accounting skills in others. For a long time, AccountTECH has differentiated itself through quick-response, personalized client support. Now, we’re taking the next step by training our onboarding and training staff to bring CFO-level expertise to client onboarding and training. My goal is that everyone on our team can confidently address even the most complex financial questions posed by CFOs and finance department leaders during setup and training.”
In her new role, Wellman will also be available to real estate brokerage leaders seeking help or advice on new growth opportunities or operational efficiencies.
