DETROIT, Sept. 29, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Achieve Detroit Academy, a tuition-free charter high school designed for students who need an alternative to traditional high school, will host an open house on Tuesday, October 7, at its drop-in/student support center located within Detroit Lions Academy (2001 W. Warren Avenue – Door 22, Detroit, MI 48208).
Prospective students, their families, and community members who work with high-school-aged youth are invited to drop in anytime between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided, along with family-friendly activities, and prospective and current students will have the chance to enter a $250 Amazon gift card drawing.
“Bring the whole family,” Principal Shannon Van Lente said. “We’ll have snacks, coloring sheets for little ones, and plenty of time to talk with our staff about how we support students who are looking for a different path to graduation.”
Achieve Detroit Academy serves Michigan students ages 15–22 (up to 26 for special education students) who are seeking a flexible, supportive alternative to a traditional school setting. The academy offers:
