INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 20, 2025) – After an action-packed weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, Toyota GAZOO Racing North America (TGRNA) officially crowned the class champions of the 2025 GR Cup Series – Westin Workman of BSI Racing (Am) and Livio Galanti of Eagles Canyon Racing (Legends Cup presented by WWEX Group).
Workman becomes the third different Am class champion in the GR Cup Series’ three-year history, while Galanti takes home the inaugural Legends Cup title.
“We’re thrilled to congratulate Westin Workman on earning the 2025 GR Cup Series championship, along with Livio Galanti for capturing the inaugural Legends Cup title,” said Mike Norem, manager, customer racing, Toyota Racing Development (T.R.D. USA). “Westin delivered an exceptional season, combining consistency, precision and execution at some of North America’s most demanding circuits, while Livio’s performance set the benchmark for our new Legends Cup category. Both are deserving champions who embody what the GR Cup is all about.”
2025 marked Workman’s second full-time season in the GR Cup Series. The Toyota Development Driver joined BSI Racing this season in hopes of taking the top step of the podium after eight runner-up and three third-place finishes in 2024. Workman accomplished that goal and more in 2025, capturing six race victories – dominant weekend sweeps at Sebring International Raceway and Barber Motorsports Park, along with wins in Race 2 at VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) and the season finale Race 2 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Those victories, along with six additional podium results, allowed Workman to clinch the Am class championship one event early after winning Race 2 at Barber Motorsports Park. The achievement is not only Workman’s first championship in the GR Cup Series, but also the first for BSI Racing, who has competed in the series since its inaugural season in 2023.
“Winning the GR Cup Series championship as a Toyota Development Driver has not only been a full circle moment for me, but my family as well,” said Workman. “Growing up, my parents only drove Toyota and Lexus vehicles, and to now win a championship with the company is still hard to wrap my head around. It has been a long time coming, but now with six wins and a championship this season, I’m even hungrier for more in the future. I can’t wait to continue my motorsports journey with this amazing organization.”
The Legends Cup presented by WWEX Group, a class created this season for drivers 45 years or older, spanned six total GR Cup Series races this season at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Road America and Indianapolis Motor Speedway race weekends. In his second season of GR Cup Series action, Livio Galanti and his Eagles Canyon Racing team captured four Legends Cup victories – weekend sweeps at Road America and Indianapolis Motor Speedway – and a class podium finish at COTA in Race 2, enroute to the coveted inaugural title.
“What an incredible season,” said Galanti. “I’m so thankful to Toyota, Eagles Canyon Racing and everyone who makes this all happen. It’s amazing that those of us in the Legends Cup category have the chance to drive with some of the best drivers in the country through the GR Cup Series. Getting to benchmark ourselves against these talented, up-and-coming young drivers is a special opportunity that Toyota provides us. To even have the chance to drive a GR86 Cup car and compete at these amazing race tracks our series travels to is such a treat for me.”
Toyota GAZOO Racing North America’s GR Cup Series returns to action March 13-15, 2026, at the inaugural Grand Prix of Arlington at the new 2.73-mile street circuit in Arlington, Texas.
