Lesjöfors China has taken another significant step forward in developing its medical manufacturing capabilities, building on its ISO 13485 certification achieved in 2024.
Recognising the medical sector’s uncompromising expectations around cleanliness, precision, and complete process control, the Changzhou facility has invested over €250,000 in new technologies designed to elevate quality assurance and reinforce Lesjöfors’ long-term commitment to the medical market.
A first-of-its-kind cleanroom capability for Lesjöfors
At the heart of the investment in Changzhou is a new automated hydrocarbon-based cleaning system, installed directly within the cleanroom environment – the first installation of its kind across Lesjöfors’ global medical manufacturing operations.
Delivering enhanced cleanliness standards, the new system ensures consistent, high-quality cleaning of stamped and deep-drawn parts.
Critical accuracy, quality enhancement & full traceability
Lesjöfors China has also strengthened its quality assurance framework with a series of precision-focused investments, including a new coordinate measuring machine (CMM) – enabling highly accurate dimensional verification.
This is complemented by a fully integrated traceability system, ensuring every production batch can be tracked seamlessly. Reinforcing product integrity, the site has also implemented 100% CCD inspection, using advanced imaging technology to automatically assess every part and prevent any non-conforming components from reaching the customer.
Medical sector commitment
Mikael Anderson, VP of Business Region Asia concludes: “These investments are far more than a local investment – it’s a milestone in our global medical strategy. Across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, we are building a unified network of capabilities that meet the highest medical manufacturing standards. With China now introducing our first cleanroom-based cleaning technology, we are reinforcing a commitment to deliver precision, cleanliness and traceability at a truly international scale.”
