Bridgestone Launches New “POTENZA RE-71RZ” and “POTENZA Adrenalin RE005” for the Ultimate Driving Experience

Tokyo (December 1, 2025) – Bridgestone Corporation (Bridgestone) today announced that it will launch two new premium passenger car tires, “POTENZA RE-71RZ” and “POTENZA Adrenalin RE005,” in February 2026. The “POTENZA RE-71RZ” will be available in 61 sizes and the “POTENZA Adrenalin RE005” in 40 sizes for Japanese domestic market. The “POTENZA RE-71RZ” is engineered for outstanding driving performance, offering precise control even when pushed to the limits – whether on the circuit or to support safety on public roads. Meanwhile, the “POTENZA Adrenalin RE005” achieves an optimal balance of driving performance and fuel efficiency at a high level, providing enjoyable driving for daily use.

Key Features of “POTENZA RE-71RZ”
Since its introduction in 1979, the “POTENZA” brand has been recognized by high-performance vehicles worldwide and has achieved success in motorsports as Bridgestone’s sports tire brand. The “POTENZA RE-71RZ” inherits the legacy of the “RE-71R” and is developed for drivers who enjoy both daily driving and track performance, pursuing the fastest street radial capabilities.

With the support of Japanese professional drivers Masahiro Sasaki and Yuji Tachikawa for on-vehicle testing, and by applying the expertise from the circuit to the tire development, “POTENZA RE-71RZ” realizes excellent dry grip and responsive handling, allowing drivers to achieve their desired performance in any situation. At the Tsukuba Circuit 2000 (Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan), lap times are reduced by 1.2%^*1 compared with the previous model “POTENZA RE-71RS.” In addition to improved wet performance, “POTENZA RE-71RZ” offers enhanced wear resistance during circuit driving, providing sustained high performance.

Equipped with a new rubber compound utilizing insights and technology cultivated in motorsports and “NanoPro-Tech”^*4 technology for an optimal blend of silica and polymer. This delivers superior grip on both dry and wet surfaces compared to previous model.

2. New Tread Pattern
The newly developed pattern optimizes the road contact area and groove design. Slick shoulders increase block rigidity, while wide, straight grooves on the inner side enhance water drainage, achieving high levels of grip and improved wear resistance on the circuit.

3. New Structure
By leveraging “ULTIMAT EYE”^*5 to refine the tire’s structure and profile, the contact area is made more uniform, providing higher grip during cornering.

It offers stability at higher speed on highways and reliable grip in corners, allowing drivers to have “the joy of driving” in a variety of driving scenarios. Enhanced wet performance ensures safety even on rainy days, achieving grade “A” in all 40 sizes^*6. Furthermore, 19 sizes have achieved grade “A” in rolling resistance performance based on JATMA (The Japan Automobile Tyre Manufacturers Association, Inc.). Alongside improved safety, “POTENZA Adrenalin RE005” also pursues comfort and sustainability through its fuel efficiency, supporting enjoyable and comfortable everyday driving.
