Lesjöfors China celebrates 20 years with strong growth and new technology focus

Lesjöfors has marked 20 years of operations in China, celebrating the evolution of its Changzhou site from a telecom-focused supplier into a diversified, future-ready manufacturing hub.

From small steps to telecom giants

Founded in 2005, the operation began by supporting major global telecommunications multinationals as they expanded manufacturing in China. Within just a few years, Lesjöfors China had built full local production capability and contributed to the development of some of the most recognisable consumer devices of the past two decades.

Strategic diversification & emerging technologies

As the telecom market shifted, the company pivoted into automotive and general industrial applications, achieving consistent double-digit growth. In 2024, the group consolidated its Shanghai facility into Changzhou and secured ISO 13485 certification, opening new opportunities in the medical sector. The site has since expanded to 8,000 m², with further growth planned.

Lesjöfors China is now playing an active role in emerging technologies, including liquid-cooling solutions for AI data centres — an area undergoing rapid transformation as next-generation systems demand more efficient thermal management.

Mikael Anderson, VP of Lesjofors Asia concludes: “Twenty years have flown by, and our achievements stand as a testament to the dedication of our people. The team in China has consistently shown its ability to adapt, innovate and support our customers through every major market shift. As we’ve expanded and diversified across sectors – from telecom and automotive to medical and AI – they have continually demonstrated our capability to respond to emerging markets and evolving customer needs.

Today, our technical expertise is helping more regional partners than ever before, and I’m immensely proud of what we have built together and confident that the future holds even greater potential.”
