RETAIL NETWORK CONTINUES TO INVEST AS McLAREN AUTOMOTIVE ACCELERATES NORTH AMERICAN GROWTH

McLaren Beverly Hills and McLaren Sterling open brand new showrooms
Retailers continue to invest in brand as sales increase
Retailer network in North America includes 23 locations; new retail points scheduled for announcement in 2018

McLaren Automotive retailers on both the East and West Coasts have opened new, brand exclusive, showroom facilities on successive weekends, as the British creator of luxury sportscars and supercars continues to post sales growth across the North American market.

McLaren Beverly Hills, operated by O’Gara Coach, officially opened its new retail home on May 10.  Starting in late 2017, the retailer has already established itself as McLaren’s number one global dealer in retail sales in the first quarter of 2018.

The exclusive showroom, located at O’Gara’s traditional heartland headquarters on Olympic Boulevard in Beverly Hills, has been home to the famous O’Gara Coach speciality brand portfolio since the 1970s.

Re-imagined with clean lines and welcoming aesthetic of the McLaren brand identity, the facility was launched with a celebratory evening featuring a classical pianist, soloist and contortion artistes, and a stunning range of Volcano Orange McLarens – including an ultra-rare McLaren P1TM.

“We are already building a loyal customer base of McLaren fans who are true enthusiasts and are passionate about their cars,” said Thomas O’Gara, owner of McLaren Beverly Hills. “As a company, we are very event focussed and believe that it’s the experiences you have in the car, the places you visit and the people you meet, that you will remember. We aim to give all our McLaren customers that opportunity.”

Over on the East Coast, McLaren Sterling opened a new state-of-the-art boutique showroom on May 19, featuring 2,700 square feet of display space, contemporary styling, LED show floor lighting and cutting-edge technology including a 3D, 4k touch screen McLaren configurator.

Located on Pacific Boulevard in Sterling, VA, the latest facility is one of the first in North America to feature McLaren’s new corporate identity and will house one of the largest selections of new and pre-owned McLarens in the country.

Adds McLaren Sterling owner, Thomas Moorhead; “To be associated with such an iconic brand with an unapparelled racing heritage is beyond our wildest dreams. McLaren Sterling is committed to the ultimate customer experience by paying attention to details such as the white glove delivery process with a champagne toast – we are so excited to be a part of the McLaren family.”

This latest round of retailer investments follows the announcement of the 23rd McLaren Automotive retailer in Bellevue, Washington earlier in the month. Further confirmation of new retailers in key locations are expected in 2018, as the brand continues to post monthly sales records in the first quarter of 2018, off the back of a best 2017 sales total both globally and in North America.

“With McLaren North America firmly established as the brand’s biggest global market with more than a third of McLaren’s sold here   and sales continuing to increase, we are delighted that our retail network continues to invest in both our cars and our brand, “said Tony Joseph, President of McLaren North America. “This is an amazing time in our short seven-year history here in North America and with more models soon to be announced as part of our award-winning range of sportscars and supercars, we are excited about the potential for even more growth.”

McLaren Automotive is a creator of luxury, high-performance sportscars and supercars.

The company, launched in 2010, is now the largest part of the McLaren Group.

Every vehicle is hand-assembled at the McLaren Production Centre (MPC) in Woking, Surrey, England.

The company has three defined product families: Sports Series, Super Series and Ultimate Series which are retailed through over 80 retailers in 30 markets around the world.

As part of the Ultimate Series, McLaren was the first to deliver a hybrid hypercar, the McLaren P1™.

Announced in 2016, the company’s Track22 business plan will see the company invest £1billion in research and development to deliver 15 new cars or derivatives by the end of 2022, of which at least half will be hybrids.

2017 saw the company launch further models in line with Track22 including the second-generation Super Series, the 570S Spider and the McLaren Senna.

To support the development, engineering and manufacture of its range of innovative sportscars and supercars, McLaren Automotive partners with world leading companies to provide specialist expertise and technology. These include AkzoNobel, Kenwood, Pirelli and Richard Mille.
