MADRID, 4 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –
BMW has taken a step towards the serial production of the new Z4 with the adjustment of all the transmission and suspension systems of the model in the Autodrome of Miramas, in the south of France.
The German brand is currently conducting dynamic driving tests with a camouflaged prototype, with the aim of collecting “key” information on the performance properties of the new two-seater sports car, according to a statement.
The BMW Z4 M40i mounts a 6-cylinder in-line engine, a lowered sports suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers, a newly developed front axle, M light-alloy wheels, an M sports brake system and an electronically controlled rear differential lock .
The Miramas test center, used by BMW to develop and test new models for more than 30 years, comprises a long oval and a bypass road for high-speed tests, as well as a ‘slalom’, circular tracks and circuits with types of different surface.
The new generation of the roadster will present, according to BMW, effective improvements in terms of dynamism, agility and precision when changing direction and accelerating in the corners.
