Nissan will boost its presence in Africa, the Middle East and India as part of its strategic plan

YOKOHAMA (JAPAN), Jun 13 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Japanese vehicle manufacturer Nissan has announced its intention to expand its presence in the regions of Africa, the Middle East and India, as part of the objectives set out in the company’s MOVE 2022 strategic plan.

In this way, the Japanese firm will strengthen its participation in South Africa, India, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and the sub-Saharan region, for which it will reach agreements with local partners, in order to meet the growing demand in this area. The forecast is for the region to experience an increase in vehicle sales of more than 40% until 2022.

The company’s intention is to experience “strong growth” in the Persian Gulf and South Africa in the current fiscal year, while working to increase its market share in Turkey, Saudi Arabia and India and boost its industrial operations in different countries in the area.

The president of Nissan in Africa, the Middle East and India, Peyman Kargar, said that, through the MOVE 2022 plan, the company seeks to capture “all the potential” of the region. “Our ambitious plans reflect the exciting opportunities to come,” he added.

The company’s strategic plan includes accounting for an annual turnover of 16.5 trillion yen (126,923 million euros at the current rate) for fiscal year 2022, as well as recording an operating profit margin of 8%.
