HUBJECT OFFICIALLY KICKS OFF U.S. OPERATIONS

The Most Widely Adopted Electric Vehicle Interoperability Platform Opens Santa Monica Headquarters and Expands Its Executive Team

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – June 14, 2018 – Hubject, the globally-recognized leader in electric vehicle (EV) interoperability, officially launched its U.S. operations from the company’s new U.S. headquarters in Santa Monica, Calif. Founded in 2012 to enable seamless charging for customers through an open and neutral business-to-business platform, Hubject, was quickly embraced in Europe and is now bringing their solution to the U.S. to support the country’s rapidly growing EV market.

“After the success we’ve had with our 300 partners in Europe and Japan, launching in the United States was the next logical step as EV sales continue to rise,” said Paul Glenney, North American CEO of Hubject. “We’re eager to help accelerate the global transition to e-mobility with our innovative software that provides a neutral system for EV charging companies to work together and provide seamless charging for drivers.”

Hubject may be new to the U.S. but it has become the most widely adopted and proven interoperability platform on four continents and 26 countries. It works by offering its corporate partners an B2B IT platform, called intercharge, that allows charging operators and service providers to easily implement interoperability between one another with one central contract and one API interface. For consumers, Hubject’s eRoaming platform allows EV drivers to easily find, access and pay for charging stations from various charging networks with one account, one card, one app and one bill. Hubject currently facilitates interconnection between 300 different charging networks, automakers and utilities partners allowing seamless access to over 70,000 charge ports.

The Hubject U.S. team will be based out of the company’s new headquarters in Santa Monica, chosen for its location in leading the U.S. market for EV and clean energy initiatives. As recently as May 31, the California Public Utilities Commission approved a $738 million budget for transportation electrification projects. Additionally, the location is near many Hubject business partners and future customers.

“Hubject is now well-positioned to usher in the next big EV-related technology for North American drivers,” said Glenney. “This year will be a critical one for infrastructure development in the United States and our Santa Monica HQ ensures we’ll have high-level involvement.”

To support the U.S. launch, Hubject has assembled a seasoned Market Development team with multiple industry veterans at the helm:

Obrie Hostetter, Director of Market Development. Hostetter has also worked for both EV Service Providers (EVSPs) and OEMs. Her areas of expertise include supporting OEM charging programs, wide-scale EV infrastructure rollouts, microgrid go-to-market planning and government affairs.
Thomas Doran, Senior Director of Market Development – Automotive. Doran has spent his career helping many Fortune 500 companies, like Coca-Cola, General Motors and Ford Motor Company, deploy technologically transformative initiatives.
Barton Sidles, Director of Corporate and Business Development. Sidles has more than 25 years of experience in international business development, disruptive mobility operations, clean energy, transportation, sales/marketing, mergers and acquisitions and PR. Prior to joining Hubject, he helped to launch Green Commuter, an EV vanpool/car share service.
Justine Brody, Senior Director of Marketing and Partnerships. Brody, is a seasoned professional in the EV charging industry, has prior experience with EVgo, the largest DC fast charging network, and AeroVironment EV Solutions. She managed marketing and communications as well as worked closely with OEMs to design unique charging programs supporting EV sales.

“Our team is made up of some of the most experienced talent in e-mobility and the EV charging industry,” said Glenney. “These individuals will be instrumental in supporting Hubject as we apply our global experience to the U.S. EV charging industry, facilitating interoperability between established networks, OEMS and utilities providers.”

Executives from Hubject, including CEO Paul Glenney, will attend the 2018 EV Roadmap Conference taking place June 18-20 in Portland, Ore. Hubject is hosting a panel titled “21st Century Charging Infrastructure,” where Glenney will introduce industry leaders as they explore emerging EV charging infrastructure models and how these structures will affect the future of EV adoption.
