VALENCIA, 25 Jan. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The management of the Ford plant in Almussafes (Valencia) and the UGT section in the factory have reached a principle of agreement on the company’s competitiveness plan for the next three years, which includes a salary increase for the company’s workforce. , 5% in 2019, 1.5% in 2020 and an increase related to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) plus 0.5% (of the amount received in 2020) in 2021.

The company and the union have reached this principle of agreement in a meeting held on Thursday, according to Europa Press reported the spokesman of UGT-Ford, Carlos Faubel. Among others, has stressed that the condition of reducing absenteeism that had defended Ford in previous meetings “has disappeared.” The company has also waived the inclusion of a clause to distribute the working day irregularly.

Likewise, the principle of agreement also includes the recovery of the contribution by the company to the pension plan for retirement. This plan, which was active previously, was a kind of “piggy bank” for retirement in which workers contributed one percent and the company sent another one percent of the monthly salary of its employees.

Thus, the company will reactivate this contribution both in employees who already had it, and in those who never had this plan. This contribution will take effect on January 1, 2019. Faubel estimates that this figure is around 4,500 workers.

Faubel has valued the proposal that the management has launched because it has no “counterparts” and that is what “deserves the template.” In addition, he assured that this agreement “increases the purchasing power of the workforce”.
