Lyft Welcomes VP of Engineering Manish Gupta

We are thrilled to welcome Manish Gupta to Lyft’s leadership team. In his role as Vice President of Engineering, Manish will lead engineering efforts across Lyft’s business platforms, including enterprise, partnerships, and healthcare, as well as our growing work with non-emergency medical transportation organizations. Reporting to Peter Morelli, Manish will also oversee the teams dedicated to payments, preventing fraud, and safeguarding our users’ identities.

Manish joins Lyft from Google where, as VP of Engineering, he led the 400-person team responsible for Google Ads’ buy-side platform. Recently, the team launched the largest overhaul of the platform in more than a decade. During Manish’s 16-year tenure at Google, he also built AdSense for TV, Video and Display ads, and the billing and payments system for advertisers and publishers. Manish joined Google in 2002 from Excite@Home where he developed online payment gateways. A native of Mumbai, India, Manish has a Masters in Computer Science from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.

Manish will work alongside Lyft’s EVP of Rideshare Technology, Ran Makavy; VP of Engineering, Peter Morelli; Chief Technology Officer, Chris Lambert; and VP of Design, Katie Dill as we continue to grow our talented engineering and product teams.

We are excited to have Manish join Lyft as we progress toward our goal of improving lives and cities with better transportation.
