The starting point for Kilian’s keynote speech was an honest analysis of the current situation: The Human Resources department at Volkswagen had a clear need for maintenance and modernization – both in terms of employee satisfaction and the quality of the services provided. At a time when every division had to become more efficient, the HR department couldn’t play the role of an uninvolved third party, said the HR Officer.
However, it’s primarily not about saving, but about improved quality and more innovations. Kilian says,: “Years ago, Human Resources at Volkswagen set standards that the rest of the republic looked to. That’s what we want to go back to.”
