CLARIFICATION ON BITCOIN TRANSACTION FOR PROTON CARS

Subang Jaya, 7 January 2018 – PROTON wishes to clarify on the reports that have gone viral on social media, with
regards to the usage of Bitcoin to purchase Proton cars.
The Company does not recognise such transaction or offer and that the photo that suggests such transaction was
independently initiated by a dealer of PROTON. Operations by the dealer has been suspended, pending further
investigation.
PROTON is open to innovative ways of car sales to keep customers’ interest in our cars. However, we would also like to
caution our sales network to exercise consideration and due care in carrying out promotion activities which are not
endorsed by the Company.
