Volkswagen plant in Wolfsburg
More than 300,000 vehicle owners complain after expiry of the limitation period against the German carmaker.

BerlinDeutlich over 300,000 owners of Volkswagen-Kfz with manipulated exhaust control demand compensation from the group. By December 28, 294,000 would have VWOwner in the list for the model declaration action (MFK) said spokesman for the Federal Office of Justice, Thomas Ottersbach, on Wednesday.
In the three days until 31 December, however, many more people would then have registered in the list maintained by the Federal Office, so that the MFK against VW will be supported by significantly more than 300,000 people. The claims for damages against Volkswagen expired on 31 December. With the entry in the list the statute of limitations is interrupted.
The Federal Association of Consumer Advocates (vzbv) had submitted the MFK against VW on 1 November. The organization wants to establish that the car manufacturer has to stand for manipulated exhaust control for the damage of VW owners with certain diesel engines.
It is the first pattern finding suit ever, The grand coalition had made this modification of a mass suit possible. The lawsuit is filed by ADAC supported.
