FrankfurtVolkswagen threatens another callback in the diesel scandal. The Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) accuses the Wolfsburg-based carmaker also to cheat the software update for maltreated diesel vehicles with 1.2-liter engine, as reported “Bild am Sonntag” without information from sources.

The KBA will therefore open a so-called hearing procedure next week. It is examined according to the newspaper report, whether in Germany 30,000 vehicles – including the Polo – the type approval must be withdrawn. In Europe, according to “BamS” a total of 370,000 cars would be affected by such a decommissioning. However, the KBA should leave it for reasons of proportionality in a renewed official recall of vehicles, it said.

The Federal Ministry of Transport said on Sunday, the allegations are known. The KBA go after this, the test is not yet completed. On VolkswagenSpokesman acknowledged that the regular internal quality controls for diesel vehicles with 1.2l engines of type EA189 had recorded abnormalities that now need to be further analyzed.

“The competent authorities such as the Federal Motor Transport Authority were promptly actively informed by Volkswagen and Volkswagen AG is still in constant dialogue. “According to the spokesman, the KBA has begun to examine the process. “An exact evaluation is not yet available.” As the “BamS” continues to report, has already prepared a criminal complaint against the responsible VW managers.
