BraunschweigThe German judiciary has investigated VW hired for possible fraud on EU funds in the millions. The case against employees of VolkswagenCorporation for subsidy fraud had been set for lack of sufficient suspicion, Brunswick’s chief prosecutor Klaus Ziehe said on Tuesday.
According to him, the facts communicated by the European Anti-Fraud Office (Olaf) are not punishable under German criminal law. At first the “Braunschweiger Zeitung” reported.
In July 2017, the Brussels authority submitted its findings on possible misconduct by carmakers in the wake of the emissions scandal.
Since 2015, Olaf has determined in the question of whether VW from the European Investment Bank (EIB) wrongly credits or misappropriated EU funds for research and development.

In the opinion of the prosecutor Braunschweig, the offense of subsidy fraud is out of the question, because no incorrect or incomplete information has been provided on relevant facts.
