BMW 7 Series – The grill giant
The kidney at the front was again increased significantly.
CologneThe luxury model 7er certainly does not lack charisma, but the designers of BMW have yet discovered potential for a bit more presence: From the beginning of March, the flagship of Munich with a magnified by 40 percent grille proudly set in scene than before.
In addition to the new radiator grille, a redesigned bumper, a new lighting design for flat LED headlamps or a bonnet with more distinctive beading catches the eye. At the rear, there is also more chrome and a new interior of the taillights, between which in the future also stretches a continuous light strip. New colors and rims provide additional freshness.
The engines went up and down with the power. Thus, the twelve-cylinder M760Li, whose exhaust gases in the future cleans an additional particulate filter, instead of 448 kW / 610 hp “only” 430 kW / 585 hp available. In return, however, the torque was increased from 800 to 850 Newton meters. Nevertheless, the sprint time is extended by one decimal place to 3.8 seconds.
Only marginally slower than the V12 version is the new 750i, whose V8 will deliver 390 kW / 530 hp instead of the previous 330 kW / 450 hp. Thus, the four-wheeler reaches the 100 mark after smooth four seconds, which are seven tenths less than before.

Also for the plug-in hybrid, which will be called 745e instead of 740e in the future, the system performance increases from 240 kW / 326 hp to 290 kW / 394 hp, which also has a slightly positive effect on sprint capability. At the same time, the pure electrical range increases from 45 to 58 kilometers.
Length variable
As before, the BMW 7 Series will be available in two wheelbase versions.
For the diesel engines 730d, 740d and 750d, power output data and performance remain unchanged, but like gasoline engines, they will in future comply with the Euro 6d Temp emissions standard.
Progress promises BMW also for the interior, which thanks to better acoustic glazing shields guests even better from noise and wind noise. A new arrangement of the multifunction keys on the steering wheel, a repositioned tray with inductive charging function for the smartphone as well as some refined wood and leather options are further measures.
Gentle retouching
The interior of the 7 Series was changed only in a few details
A now fully digital cockpit with 12.3-inch display as an instrument cluster and the 10.25-inch touch screen for the infotainment system complete the package of measures, together with improved operating logic, new voice assistant and an expansion of automated driving skills such as remote-controlled parking.
As before, BMW will offer the 7 Series with two wheelbases. The cheapest entry into the 7-cosmos marks the 730d with 88,400 euros. The long version costs 5,500 euros extra. In about twice the starting price, namely € 174,000, BMW calls for the top version M760Li xDrive.
New from the back
The rear was also modified. New is a light strip between the taillights.
