Lyft and H&M are teaming up to promote the importance of recycling unwanted clothing.
From Jan. 22-27, 5000 Lyft riders who want to recycle their unwanted clothing can enter promo code HMRECYCLES in the Lyft app to claim a $10 ride credit to any H&M location in New York City. Riders will also receive 15% off their H&M purchase in return for a donation of unwanted garments — from any brand, in any condition. The H&M discount will be given in-store upon donation.
The Lyft and H&M partnership is part of a broader mission to focus on the challenges of climate change. H&M started its Garment Collecting program in 2013, becoming the first fashion company to launch such an initiative worldwide. The program has collected 163 billion pounds of textiles globally, providing customers an easy way to give clothes a second life and ensure fewer garments end up in landfills.
