- Human Resources Board Member Kilian and Works Council Chairman Osterloh praise team performance
- For employees covered by collective bargaining agreements, bonus for 2018 rises by €650 compared with 2017
For 2018, the employees of Volkswagen AG covered by collective bargaining agreements are to receive a performance-related bonus of €4,750 gross. Compared with 2017, the bonus is therefore to rise by €650 gross. Human Resources Board Member Gunnar Kilian and Works Council Chairman Bernd Osterloh praised the performance of the team in the challenging year of 2018. They said that joint efforts would now pay off for each individual employee in the form of the bonus.
“In 2018, the Volkswagen team mastered difficult situations with tremendous dedication,” said Kilian. “Our employees showed an extremely high degree of flexibility and therefore made a key contribution to the success of Volkswagen. It is right and important that employees should play their part when the going gets tough.”
Osterloh emphasized: “2018 was a tough year for our colleagues. Many factors which were entirely beyond the control of the workforce had a direct impact on their everyday work in many cases. But our colleagues solved all the problems which arose. This is why it is only fair that Volkswagen employees should now receive their share in the success of the company.
This bonus is based on the two-year calculation period laid down in collective bargaining agreements. Of the latest bonus, employees covered by collective bargaining agreements already received €1,690.50 gross with their salary for November 2018. This means that employees are still to receive an amount of €3059.50 gross. This will be paid together with their salary for May.

The bonus paid gives no indication of the performance of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand. Among other factors, the calculation also takes account of the performance of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
