BerlinThe Group Works Council “Bild am Sonntag” wants to prevent the construction of the planned new plant in Eastern Europe. As the newspaper reports, the employee representatives want to vote against the project at the decisive meeting of the supervisory board in the spring. The works council sees no need for the billions investment, since existing factories in Europe not busy.

VW is still looking for a location for the new plant, which will start production in 2022 and according to earlier information, will be able to produce 350,000 vehicles a year. At present, ten plots of land would be in Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria and the Turkey examined, the sheet reports, citing internal documents.
