We demand 5 percent more money in the automotive trade

At the beginning of May, the collective bargaining round starts in the car trade. For the employees in the car dealerships and workshops, we demand 5 percent more money. The remuneration of trainees should increase disproportionately by more than 5 percent. With this we want to secure the next generation and the skilled workers for the motor vehicle trade.

This demand has been decided by the IG Metall Executive Board and thus follows the Recommendations of the tariff commissions in the individual tariff areas. The elected tariff commissions consist mostly of works councils and IG Metall representatives from the factories. They had agreed their demands in recent weeks and justify them with the increase in workload in car dealerships and workshops. Less and less employees have to do more and more work.

Negotiations from the beginning of May – Collective bargaining campaigns

The regional tariff commissions will now start negotiations with the employers. Bavaria starts on May 7th.

Preparations for action on the motor vehicle pay round are already underway. The IG Metall members in the car companies are preparing for warning strikes. Surveys and feedback from the companies show that IG Metall members in the car trade are increasingly prepared to take part in actions. For the beginning of June, nationwide action days are planned.
