Audi S6 / S7
The sporty sedan from Ingolstadt will in the future only fill up with diesel.
IngolstadtAudi In the future, when driving its sporty S models in Europe, it will consistently focus on diesel. As the first non-SUV models, the S6 and S7 Sportback business models will replace the traditional petrol engine with a diesel engine in the summer. The 3.0-liter V6 delivers 257 kW / 349 hp and provides a torque of 700 Nm available. Prices start at 76,500 euros for the S6 sedan, the station wagon costs 79,000 euros, the S7 from 82,750 euros.
All-wheel drive is standard, for an extra charge are four-wheel steering, limited slip differential and a ceramic brake to have. So that no turbocharger disturbs the sporty driving, an electric compressor is used, which intervenes, if the exhaust-operated loader does not have enough pressure yet.
Power is supplied to the E-compressor via an additional on-board system with 48 Volt voltage, which is also used for the operation of a belt starter generator. This allows a particularly efficient start-stop system with sail function as well as a more efficient recuperation. Standard consumption is thus reduced to 6.2 liters (S6) or 6.5 liters (S7).
The performance of the diesel athletes fall slightly weaker than in the models of the previous generation, which had even more powerful V8 petrol engine. The standard sprint takes at least 5.0 seconds with the diesel and thus about half a second longer than before.

More important is likely Audi in view of the upcoming CO2 limits, however, the significantly lower consumption – the predecessor approved 9.2 liters of Super Plus. The changeover to the diesel engine will therefore be made in other passenger car models such as the S4 or S5 in the future, in the SUV have been used for some time TDIs. Outside Europe, however, the S models continue to have petrol on board, the S6 / S7 is a 2.9-liter V6 with 331 kW / 450 hp and 600 Nm.
