Stuttgart, Dusseldorf Sunday was still a good day for Uwe Huck, In the local elections in Pforzheim the new politician was able to get the most votes straight away. Only two days later Hück, although not accused, is at the center of a preliminary investigation.

The suspicion: Hück should have been granted benefits in his time as Chairman of the Works Council of Porsche AG, which are not entitled to him. The officers even searched Hück’s private home in Pforzheim. The procedure is directed against six managers of the sports car manufacturer, partly from the top management.

On Hück’s career fall so only a few weeks after his departure from Porsche dark shadows. For over three decades, the hobby boxer worked for Porsche, 22 years of which as a powerful and recognized works council chief.

Just a few weeks ago he said goodbye to the sports car manufacturerto go into politics. He wants to stand for more justice in the future. “We must not let the social strife arise,” he said in an interview with Handelsblatt. He saved financial means for his political ambitions in his time in Porsche.

On the current investigation Hück did not want to comment on demand. “My salary is clean,” said the ex-Porsche works council only. The Stuttgart public prosecutor’s office apparently has a different view of things: “There is a suspicion that may have been paid to a former works council member of Porsche AG in consideration of its activities disproportionately high and thus unjustified compensation,” said the authorities spokesman.

The six defendants in this regard could have been penalized, inter alia, the infidelity charged to Porsche AG. Porsche confirmed the searches. The company “cooperates fully” with the authorities.

Uwe Hück: “We should care more about the peace and less about the diesel”

Anger for excessive salary payments to high – ranking works council members is in VWGroup not new – for more than two years, the Braunschweig prosecutor’s office deals with at least partially comparable allegations. It investigates the two ex-HR chiefs Karlheinz Blessing and Horst Neumann and two former HR managers for unfaithful suspicion.

You should be responsible for that VWChairman of the Works Council Bernd Osterloh has received a possibly too high salary over the years. And in November 2017, as well as Blessing’s office, the investigators also searched the offices of Supervisory Board Chairman Hans Dieter Pötsch and CFO Frank Witter for possible tax offenses. Osterloh himself – like Hück – does not belong to the accused.

While a decision of the public prosecutor’s office about a possible indictment is still outstanding, VW could at least draw a line under the matter under employment law. Before the labor court Braunschweig, the group agreed with a total of 15 works councils.

In addition to the unfaithful suspicion sports car maker Porsche but still has to deal with another suspicion of the investigators. It’s about bribery. In this context, the tax administration gets into twilight. They also searched the tax authorities and the rooms of a tax consultant. An auditor has to accept serious accusations.

“According to the previous investigation, an official of the Stuttgart Group Examination Office should have betrayed information to a tax adviser of Porsche AG during ongoing audit of Porsche AG,” said the prosecutor.

The information had been in need of secrecy, and in return the official should have taken advantage. In addition to the tax adviser, the official is therefore also accused. In total, 176 investigators were on duty in both affairs until the afternoon. In the process, documents, data media and also mobile phones were secured.
