The manufacturer of components for automobiles Faurecia will invest 25 million euros in a research center to improve the development of hydrogen fuel tanks.
According to the company in a press release, of this amount, 4.9 million euros belong to a subsidy granted by the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region (France).
In the long term, Faurecia plans to create 50 new jobs in Bavans (France), where it already employs 750 people, dedicated to the development of a “clean mobility”. The company aims to create hydrogen fuel tanks that are more efficient and lighter.
“The creation of our center of experts in hydrogen tanks in France is a key step in Faurecia’s strategy to become a world leader in fuel cell systems, perfectly adapted to commercial vehicles and heavy goods, this technology will play an important role in mobility with zero emissions “, said the vice president of the area of Clean Mobility in Faurecia, Christophe Schmitt.
