Karhoo this week announced its expansion into Eastern Europe at the launch of its new office in Krakow, Poland.

The Polish office will serve as a development, engineering and operational hub for Karhoo’s expansion into Eastern Europe.

The Karhoo model, which sees the firm partner with local regulated, licensed taxi and private hire fleets, is well suited to the region’s markets, which has strict rules in place to protect public safety.

Local fleets on Karhoo’s platform will benefit from accessing more exposure, enabling them to win big contracts without removing their autonomy.

The office adds to the fast-growing company’s other offices in London, Paris and New York.

In April, Karhoo beat out over 500 other rising mobility companies to win the prestigious European Startup Gold Prize for mobility at the European Parliament in Brussels.

Karhoo is creating a ride-hailing marketplace that brings together regulated, licensed taxi and private hire vehicle (PHV) fleets from around the world in the form of an electronic platform which can integrate with other travel and leisure operators’ platforms and apps.

Karhoo has over 1,800,000 vehicles within its network across six continents.

Karhoo Co-CEO Nicolas Andine said: “The opening of our Eastern European office in Krakow represents a milestone moment in the journey of Karhoo.

“The current iteration of the company was formed in 2017, with just a handful of people in a London office.

“Just two years later, we are now leading the mobility revolution not just at home but in markets around the world.”
