Now you get subsidies for the purchase of electric vans

The notified scheme is finally in place: Now you get from NOK 15 to 50,000 in subsidies from Enova when you buy a new zero-emission van.

– This support scheme is an effective measure to make electric vans more competitive, says Erik Andresen of the Car Importers’ National Association (BIL).

He aims that vans initially have lower fees than passenger cars, and that exemption for electric vans has therefore not had the same incentive effect as we have seen on the passenger car side.

The support is rated according to the car’s engine performance:

Engine performance (hp)
Maximum power per half hour (kW)
Support

< 80 hp < 60 kW 15 000 kr 80–120 hk 60–90 kW 25 000 kr > 120 hk
> 90 kW
50 000 kr

– The car dealer can handle the application to Enova, so that the buyer does not get any extra work by using the support scheme, Andresen says,

To receive support, you must meet some criteria.

All businesses that are registered in the Norwegian business register and who are not in financial difficulties can apply.
It is the business that must stand as the owner of the vehicle in the Vehicle Register that must apply. Therefore, if you are going to lease a car, you cannot apply for Enova for support (but the leasing company can do it).
The support offer only applies when the car is first registered, ie not used purchases or imports.

Charger support

You can also apply for an additional NOK 5,000 in support for the purchase of chargers for the car. To receive charger support, you must have purchased and delivered an electric vehicle with Enova support.

Enova announces that it will reduce support rates over time and will notify changes three months in advance.

More information about the scheme can be found at Enova.
