ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab supports Future Port Prague as a Gold partner

At Future Port Prague, more than 120 exhibitors are to give interactive presentations, demonstrating visionary technological solutions to key questions concerning the future. The main focus will be on topics such as mobility, e-commerce, healthcare, production, management models and the future of civilisation in general. This year, ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab is taking part in Future Port Prague expo for the third time and supporting the event as a gold partner. The company’s innovative hub will present its own services, which have been developed in collaboration with various partners. These services make mobility easier and improve the quality of life in cities.

Andre Wehner, Chief Digital Officer at ŠKODA AUTO, stated, “ŠKODA AUTO is further expanding its portfolio of Simply Clever mobility solutions. At Future Port Prague, the biggest event of its kind in Central Europe, we present our newest mobile applications and mobility services. We are looking forward to the feedback from the visitors. We are excited to support this event since it is a platform for many interesting topics for the future.”

“For already the third time, Future Port is giving us the chance to find new partners in the field of technological information and exchange opinions and experiences regarding clever mobility. At the same time, it is an opportunity for us to introduce our vision for the future of mobility to the public with concrete projects,” said Jarmila Plachá.

ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab will be showcasing the following new mobility solutions at this year’s Future Port Prague:

› Users of the recently launched e-scooter sharing service BeRider in Prague can access a fleet of electric scooters. They are powered by two lithium-ion batteries. Fitted with LED headlights as well as front and rear brake discs, BeRider enables users to make headway safely and efficiently in urban traffic. As is typical for an electric vehicle, it boasts powerful acceleration and can reach a top speed of 66 km/h. With a range of up to 70 km, the zero-emission e-scooters are ideal for short to mid-range distances.

CareDriver enables children, the elderly and those with physical disabilities to get around the city. Specially trained ‘CareProfs’ drive them to their destinations and even help them to the front door. ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab successfully established CareDriver in Germany.

› The brand-new Citymove app calculates the best route for travelling around the city and suggests a suitable mode of transport. For its launch in Prague, it is consolidating mobility services offered by Prague’s transport association (DPP) – metro, bus and tram – as well as e-bike sharing and ride hailing. All of the services can be booked directly via the app. The new Citymove app also promises easy and efficient parking in Prague’s city centre. Drivers can use it to find parking spaces and zones, as well as pay their parking fees by credit card via their phone.

› Using the Cosmo boot delivery service, online shoppers can have their parcels delivered directly to their parked car. As for the delivery address, only the car’s location and number plate are required. ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab developed this delivery service in collaboration with the two leading Czech online retailers Alza.cz and Rohlik.cz.

“Mobility is one of the key topics dealt with by Future Port Prague every year. It affects us all, whether as individuals or companies. That’s why it’s great to have a partner as strong in this field as ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab, who has helped us to develop the event from the very beginning. ŠKODA AUTO’s focus on the electrification and integration of traffic solutions at the expo this year reiterates this strong global trend. I myself love using shared mobility, so I’m delighted about the electric scooters and the Citymove app,” said Martin Holečko, founder and CEO of Future Port Prague.

ŠKODA AUTO will also present its VISION iV concept car– yet another highlight at Future Port Prague 2019. By showcasing the all-electric VISION iV concept study, the Czech car manufacturer will be providing a concrete look ahead at its electric future. The sporty and dynamic design represents the joy of driving. At the same time, the VISION iV impresses with its generous feeling of spaciousness.
